Cultural performances to be held every night at the Athletes VillageAfter the official opening of the Universiade games on August 6, twenty three cultural performances will be held at the Athletes Village in Longgang. One performance will be performed each night of the games from August 12 to 23. Each performance features traditional Chinese and pop culture.

There will be ten traditional Chinese cultural performances staged in an auditorium at the Athletes Village including symphony concerts, martial arts exhibitions, acrobatics and traditional Chinese operas. There will also be 13 outdoor performances by the lakeside featuring pop music concerts.

Seven local bands will be performing in the pop music concerts that are aimed to display traditional Chinese culture and the city’s image as a young and vigorous city, and enriching athletes’ cultural experience while staying in the city.

Arts exhibitions will be opened in the village from 10 am until 10 pm on August 6 to 26, craftsmen will be invited to display their work and show and teach their unique talents to those interested in learning more about their skills.

The festival will also feature theater performances from artists coming from South Korea, Netherlands, Japan and Monaco. Admission to these performances will be below 100 yuan and some will cost less than 50 yuan thanks to a government subsidy.
