Carpooling Encouraged to Reduce Carbon Emissions
One promotion was organized by a committee that already has more that 360 registrations from the Shenzhen Entry Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Shenzhen Auditing Bureau and Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.
The Shenzhen Entry Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has already suspended the use of more that 800 of their vehicles and registered 264 bureau vehicles that will be used for carpooling during the Universiade games. The carpooling system program maximizes traffic resources and reduces carbon emissions.
The organizing committee will be setting up a platform for those interested in sharing carpool information, temporary stops are set up near residential compounds and office buildings for government employees. Public servants have also been encouraged to take buses and the Metro, use bicycles or walk to work.
