Vehicles Without Certificates not Allowed on Designated Lanes
Starting Thursday, only vehicles that were issued decals by the Universiade games organizing committee will be allowed to use the lanes that were designated for Universiade vehilces. Motorists caught using the lanes without any proper certificates will be fined.
Police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances and engineering vehicles can use the lanes since they are exempted from the fined. The designated lanes have been dedicated to Universiade traffic to make sure that there will be smooth traffic to the Universiade venues, even during rush hour, since vehicles used by the athletes must reach the sports venue within an hour.
Thirteen roads have been designated as special lanes by the local government that will be used by Universiade vehicles; the roads are Shuiguan and Qingping expressways, Xinzhou Road, Binhe and Beihuan boulevard. Vehicles that are not for Universiade use are not allowed in the lanes from 7 am until 8 pm.
Traffic police will be recording vehicles without certification that are entering the lanes and will only be fined when the same vehicle is caught for the second time or any subsequent violations. Restrictions will be extended until midnight during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Universiade.
