City to Conduct Strict Food Preparations at Universiade Venues
Food ingredients and cooking processes in all Universiade venues will be kept under strict supervision to prevent any food poisoning among the participants and delegates. Teams from the city market administration will be conducting daily inspections of hotel kitchens and other places were food is prepared.
The teams will inspect all food and the way it’s cooked and improvements will be suggested to ensure the quality of the food is maintained. Teams will be arriving in the kitchen around 5 am everyday and teams will be testing each dish prepared by the kitchen. Stricter food supervision will be applied to foods that are known to spoil easily in the summer.
The Universiade media center’s kitchen in Longgang district will be providing Chinese and Western dishes to journalists from around the world. Food trials have been conducted since Thursday and the kitchen will open its doors today. Its main dining hall can accommodate 560 people while a smaller Muslim dining area is prepared that can seat a hundred people.
