Trainee Reporters to Cover Universiade Opening Ceremony
A training camp for reporters opened yesterday with participants from 36 countries and regions in attendance. Among them were 44 reporters from Russia, France, Japan, Australia, Canada and India who will be staying in Shenzhen for the duration of the games.
The camp, organized by the FISU and International Sports Press Association, is the first university sport based journalism education program that is aimed to promote sports journalism and improve a young journalists’ skills in reporting.
Participants will be joining educational seminars and will get training in print media, photography, new media and online reporting. Participating reporters will get a chance to have their work published on the AIPS website, games information systems, FISU media and their home media platforms. The first assignment given to them is to cover the Universiade opening ceremony.
