Universiade Fund for Students Officially Launched
The first Shenzhen Universiade Fund was officially launched last Saturday aimed at promoting the exchange between international students in science and culture. So far, there are eleven students studying locally and abroad that have benefitted from the fund through government and public donations.
A state councilor and member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPC praised the Universiade fund saying that it’s a step in the right direction for cooperation among international universities. During the ceremony six of the beneficiaries were in attendance and were awarded with certificates by Shenzhen Mayor Xu Qin.
The eleven beneficiaries were all volunteers During the Universaide games that lent their hands either in the torch relay or in construction of the sports venues. Their contribution helped to promote the Universiade’s cultural and educational exchange program between China and foreign countries.
