Measure Implemented to Control Use of Antibiotics
A new rule recently released by the city health commission will be looking into the abuse of the use of antibiotics by doctors and hospitals. Doctors that are over prescribing antibiotics without reason will face consequences.
Hospitals will be required to control the use of antibiotics in outpatient departments to 20 percent and 60 percent in the inpatient department. Doctors will have their prescription rights restricted and may have their licenses revoked if they are caught over prescribing antibiotics without an appropriate cause. Medical institutions will also inform the public on the classified antibiotics index and prescription rights of the practicing doctor.
Medical directors of medical institutions will be signing a responsibility contract that shows their obligations for antibiotics supervision and accountability. AA hospitals will be restricted to 35 types of antibiotics and AAA hospitals will have access to 50 types. The hospitals are asked to choose antibiotics according to the clinical microbiological criteria and rate of test samples should not be lower than 30 percent of that given by the hospitals patients.
