Dapeng Peninsula to be Developed into Tourist Destination
Dapeng Peninsula in Daya Bay was named as one of the most scenic coasts in China, with a coastline of 133 kilometers with great ocean views and mountain scenery. Shenzhen is planning to develop the peninsula in to a international tourist spot.
The city will give priority to the protection and preservation with majority of the areas in the peninsula being placed under ecological protection. Some areas will be preserved and chosen to be suitable for tourism such as parts of the coastline that is for coastal leisure and travel. Old villages that are found in the mountains will be preserved and developed ideally for tourism.
The first area to undergo development is the Xiasha area in the west coast of the peninsula. In an agreement made by the city with the China National Travel Service Group Corp. a contract was signed where in the travel agency will be investing around 2 to 3 billion yuan to build the tourist facilities in the first phase of the development of the Xiasha area.
The China National Travel Service Group is a state owned company that deals with property development. The group has already established controlling stake in various theme parks located around Shenzhen. This includes the Splendid Chin China Folk Culture villages, the Window of the World and the Mangocity.com an online travel service website in Shenzhen.
