Village to Display Gifts Left by Foreign Delegations
Athletes and other delegations staying at the Universiade village gave various gifts to the hosts, which are currently displayed in a large room at the Universiade village administrative center. Each of the gifts given by the delegations represent their countries’ unique culture and customs.
Gifts such as headsets, dolls, and traditional costumes were left as gifts by the American, German and Italian delegations, the Mexican delegation left a broad brimmed traditional hat that is usually worn during their fiestas.
The athletes received gifts as well from the Chinese Universiade hosts, all of them got a wooden box that is shaped like the village with a carving of the village map on top of the wooden box. Inside, the delegate can find a traditional Chinese stamp and a bejeweled mirror compact.
