More Renewable Energy Projects to be Completed this Year
The urban construction commission said that 5 million square meters of buildings would increase the area for uses of renewable energy sources such as solar energy in the next five years in their efforts to push the application of renewable energy use.
In areas close to the sea, sea water will be used to heat pumps, on the condition that the process will not have a negative effect on the fishing grounds and tourism industries found in the area. Industrial parks and remote residential communities will be utilizing ground sources to heat pumps. The use of solar energy will be highly promoted across the city as well.
The city will be applying for State subsidies for the construction of solar photovoltaic power projects. This year also saw the review and approval of seven renewable energy projects that will be getting subsidies from the Central Government. Some districts and towns are also in line to apply as models for using renewable energy in buildings.
