Shenzhen to experience hot weather
The weather in Shenzhen will be hot for the next few days due to the influence of tropical storm Nanmadol with temperatures in the city expected to be around 34 to 35 degrees Celsius. The recent hazy weather in Shenzhen can also be blamed on the return of vehicle emissions in the city with the end of the Universiade.
The Shenzhen environmental protection authority said that the air quality index during the Universiade games was good and remained below 22. But after the games the air quality index had almost doubled by Thursday. The increase in the air quality index was blamed on vehicle emissions that were the major source of the haze, other conditions such as changes in wind direction and weak winds that did little to disperse the inhalable particles.
400,000 vehicles were kept off the roads during the Universiade, thus making the air quality better. And the Universiade was a good way to check air quality in the city since vehicles were kept of the roads, construction halted and the polluting factories production suspension left the air cleaner.
Southern winds also brought clean air from the sea, but on Wednesday the northern winds came but were too weak to disperse the pollutants in the air.
