City Set to Increase Parking Fees
To help ease traffic congestion in the city’s central business areas, vice mayor Zhang Wen announced that the city will be increasing parking fees in these areas, but he didn’t specify as to when the new charges will take effect.
With the increase of car owners in the city, various city government departments have been working hard and making plans, as well as devising traffic rules to help ease traffic congestion in the city. Several sources say that the city might implement the parking fee increase next year.
The department responsible for the parking fee increase has already been inspecting car parks across the city to determine how many parking lots there are and the range of their prices. The new parking pricing plan will be ready before July of next year.
The city will also be implementing other measures to control traffic congestion such as road improvements and upgrading and more traffic restrictions during rush hours.
