University to ban the use of electric bikes in their campus
The University have set up eight gates to do inspections of electric bikes, during the opening of the new semester. Bikes that don’t pass the inspection will be confiscated by the University’s security department. The new ruling states that electric bikes that weigh no more than 40 kilograms and a speed of no more than 20 kilometers are allowed.
There are around 8,000 students that own electric bikes and 95 percent of this bikes are unqualified. Around the 12 types of electric bikes that are found in the market only one meets the University’s standard. The students were not happy with the ban, some say that it’s hot in Shenzhen and it takes 20 minutes from their dormitories to their classes, and none of them wants to go to class with sweaty clothes.
The type of qualified bike is posted on the university’s website and they suggest the students to buy similar bikes. the qualified bikes and one that have the same qualification usually costs 3,000 yuan.
