Flower Prices Increase During Mid Autumn Festival
Because a lot of people bought flowers to give teachers, friends and relatives during Teacher’s Day and Mid Autumn Festival, and because of the high demand prices of flowers in Shenzhen went up at least 20 percent.
The demand of flowers were increased in the past week and reached its peak last Saturday, a bouquet of flowers were selling for 30 yuan more than the usual price and wholesale prices of flowers were also up 30 percent. Prices of flowers also rose in Yunnan Province after air freight coast went up during the Mid Autumn Festival.
A wholesaler in Flower World, the city’s biggest flower wholesale market in Futian district said that prices of flowers will fall after the festival and will start increasing again in October due to people that were planning their weddings in that month.
