Buji Market to be Transferred to New Location
Starting next week Buji Tram Produce Wholesale Market will be transferred to Pinghu Haijixing International Agricultural Product Logistics Park. The market is the biggest farm produce wholesale market in the city.
The new farm produce market is the biggest agricultural logistics center in South China that will be supplying agricultural products to Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The Market’s annual turnover is expected to reach 7 million tons of produce which is double the amount in the current Buji market.
A laboratory will also be built in the new market equipped with the latest test equipment costing more than 60 million yuan. The previous laboratory in the Buji market can only check for chemical residue, the new laboratory can test for chemical residue, microorganisms and other transgenic products that can be traced back to the growers.
Additional improved roads will be built to give residents more access to the market by connecting neighboring highways as well as via new bus routes to be opened. The new market will have 300 vans selling fresh farm products.
Under the Sungang Qingshuihe development, the old Buji market might be transformed into a modern shopping center.
