Government funded international school now open
The city’s first government funded international school is now open. The school located at Nanshan District. The school is part of Shenzhen Foriegn Languages School with 147 employees and there are 1,080 available places in its 54 classes ranging from kindergarten, to primary and middle school.
The government invested 230 million yuan in constructing the school buildings, and Shenzhen Baihe Holdings Group will be investing around 40 million yuan more for additional construction and school operations. There are four existing private international schools in the city all of them have small campuses.
The new school can now accommodate the 9,000 children that are applying for international education in Shenzhen every year. the school enrolls children of expatriates that are living in Shenzhen. Some children are coming from residents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan that are working in Shenzhen. Students will be taught by an experienced foreign teacher.
