City to Impose Traffic Controls for the National Day Holidays
Traffic controls will be imposed on four areas in Shenzhen to ensure smooth and safe travel during the National Day holidays. Traffic police are expecting holiday rush hour to start around 4 PM Friday and are reminding motorists at checkpoint queues and expressways.
Drivers going to Huizhou and Shantou have been asked to use Jihe Expressway before going to Shenshan Expressway in order to avoid traffic in the eastern part of the city. Traffic police are also planning to impose traffic controls on Luosha Road and the Eastern Coast Expressway. These roads lead to OCT East and Damiesha and can only accommodate 8,000 vehicles. Police are estimating that around 80,000 to 100,000 vehicles are going to these parts of the city. Traffic controls will be imposed when it is deemed necessary.
Traffic police are asking drivers planning to go to Damiesha to use Shuiguan and Yanpai expressways or Donghaidao Road or Yantian Road in getting there. To further relieve traffic in Dapeng, traffic controls will be imposed on Xinda Road that will divert other vehicles to Kuinan Road and North Haibin Road.
