SIS Hosting Middle School Boys’ Honor Choir Festival
We have a unique and wonderful opportunity this year to host the AMIS (Association for Music in International Schools) Boys’ Honor Choir here at SIS starting on October 12 and culminating in a concert of 65 boys singing together at the Bayside Amphitheatre. This is a historic occasion as it is the first time this particular festival is taking place outside of Europe. We will have boys coming from eight different international schools around the world (three in China, two from other Asian schools, and three from Europe).
We want to show these visitors that SIS is a warm and welcoming place. I know that many of you will want to come and show your support by enjoying the fabulous concert which will take place in the Bayside Amphitheatre at 6:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 15. Seating will be general admission and free of charge (come early to reserve your seat). We also hope that some of you will be able to host a couple of these fine young men in your homes during their stay in Shekou. The students will all be housed with SIS families on October 12-15. Most of the boys will be returning home on Sunday the 16th after breakfast, but some will actually leave immediately following the concert on Saturday the 15th.
If you are able to house two or more of these visiting middle school boys who represent the best singers from their various schools, and will, no doubt be a delight to have in your home for 3-4 nights, please send an email to Melody Gifford: firstname.lastname@example.org. You will need to provide dinner on Wednesday through Friday and breakfast Thursday through Sunday (October 12-16).
Thank you in advance for your support of this amazing cultural experience in our school!
