Shenzhen fourth most popular destination during National Day Holidays
More than 4 million tourists visited Shenzhen during the week long National Day Holidays, this was an increase of 1.18 percent of visitors during the same period last year. A Survey showed that the city was the fourth most popular destination during the holidays.
Even two typhoons passing through China, tourists still flocked the city popular destinations in the first three days. Popular local scenic spots also showed an increase in the number of visitors. The number of individual tourists also saw an increase with most of them choosing high end tours or holidays overseas.
More than 3.8 billion yuan have been added to the city’s tourism income, other businesses such as commercial retail, catering, transport and entertainment also saw an in crease in their sales. The average tourist spent at least 550 yuan a day and those spending nights in the city spent around 1,300 yuan. The City’s tourism office also showed that 99 percent of the tourist that visited were satisfied with the tourism services that was offered by the city.
Also during the holidays border crossings between Hong Kong and Shenzhen increase around 7 percent which is higher over the same period in last year’s holidays.
