Traffic restrictions implemented for World Cup qualifying match
Starting today traffic police will be restricting private cars from entering the areas around the Shenzhen Stadium. The restrictions was implemented due to the qualifying game match between China and Iraq for the 2014 World Cup.
Vehicles that are found parked at the following roads will be towed and fines will be given to the driver. The roads are Sungang Road, Shangbu Road North and Nigang Road West. Parking areas in residential areas in Baihua, Bagualing and Yuanling are also off limits to the game spectators.
Traffic police advised those going to watch the game to use public transportation to reach Shenzhen Stadium. Traffic police will start implementing the restriction from 6 pm until 8 pm. Only official vehicles are allowed to park in the 1,000 parking spots that are made available.
Drivers living in the area are advised to take other routs such as Hongli and Hongling roads, or try to travel before 6 pm and after 8 pm. The city’s transport commission will designate a temporary parking ares for buses used to transport spectators to the game. Passengers taking the Metro can stop at the Tongxinling station which is only a ten minute walk to the Stadium.
