Three Cities Sign Agreement to Protect Consumer Rights
To safeguard consumer rights with the tourism industry, Shenzhen renewed a three year cooperative agreement with Hong Kong and Hengyang City in the Hunan Province. The three cities reached an agreement to cooperate in dealings with trans-regional disputes.
The first agreement between these cities was signed in July 2008 and was beneficial in dealing with disputes in trans regional consumption. The three cities collaborated to compile suggestions in Hengyang, whose tourism industry has subsequently benefited. The consumers association in Hengyang also deals with complaints that concerns Shenzhen enterprises doing business in Hengyang.
Most disputes involved sightseeing, accommodation, transportation, shopping and entertainment; the agreement will help deal with the disputes and help protect consumers rights that involve industries such as financial insurance, legal consultation and advertising.
Shenzhen has agreements with more than 20 provinces, cities and regions which safeguard all legal rights of tourists and further boosts the development of the three cities’ tourism industries.
