Major companies and institutions in Shenzhen have signed agreements to invest in five deals with their U.S. counterparts to further deepen cooperation in education, bio-pharmacy, exhibitions and alternative energy vehicles.
Shenzhen automaker, BYD already opened their North American headquarters in Los Angeles that will create an additional 150 jobs. BYD also signed a partnership with Hertz Car rental that will be using an all electric long-range bus that will be used to transport passengers at the Los Angeles International Airport. BYD headquarters in North America will concentrate on the development of the electric buses that will be used in Los Angeles and other cities in the United States.
The BYD bus can run for 250 kilometers on a single charge with zero emissions and should help to improve the air quality in Los Angeles if more of the old buses are replaced with the new electric versions.
