Reforms implemented to establish two new zones
Shenzhen will implement more comprehensive reforms to help further establish the Longhua and Dapeng new zones. Longhua, Dalang, Guanlan and Minzhi subdistricts in the Bao’an district will be cover by Longhua new zone, while Dapeng, Nan’ao and Kuichong subdistricts in the Longgang district is under the Dapeng new zone.
The establishment of the two new zones, will help promote Longhua regional economy and further strengthen Shenzhen North Railway Station’s function as a transport hub and industrial upgrade and transfer of Huawei and Foxconn. The new zones will also promote the integration of the special economic zones.
To relieve the congestion in Meilin Checkpoint, the Meguan Expressway will be expanded and its tollgates will be moved plus a tunnel will be constructed to connect Caitian Road with Xiqu Boulevard. Longhua and Guanlan are rated for their economic strength in Bao;an district and is said to be the economically powerful new zone in Shenzhen. Dapeng new zone will work on developing eco-tourism.
Different new zones are established to pilot comprehensive reforms, by incorporating experience of Hong Kong and Singapore in their success in urban planning, reduced levels of government and land distribution.
