City Records a New high Temperature
Last Saturday set a record high temperature of 33.9 degrees Celsius recorded for November, which is .8 degrees higher that the previous recorded temperature, reported in November 1996. Temperatures in Shenzhen have ranged from 25.7 to 32 degrees in October with the highest temperature in October recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, also in 1996.
The Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said that the cold winds coming from the North are not yet strong enough to bring cooler temperatures to the city but are expected to start cooling down later this week. People have been complaining about the haze and poor visibility in the city for the past month.
Residents have noticed that the haze has been slowly increasing after the Universiade games where the skies were unseasonably clear. Some observations were made and saw that there were 12 hazy days in October, which is three days more than the same period last year.
