Restaurant Review – McCawley’s
The first of my November restaurant reviews would take me back to Coco Park. This time it wouldn’t be South American BBQ or Mexican, this time I fancied something to remind me of home, so I chose Mccawley’s. Having eaten here many times, usually ordering the roast chicken with mash potato, vegetables and gravy, which is to die for, I decided to try something different. I ordered the Shepherds pie and my friend ordered bangers and mash, you can’t get much more English. The banger’s were huge and mash cooked to perfection, Jamie was happy. The Shepherds pie was a huge portion of mince meat and mash potato, not quite as good as my mum’s but pretty good all the same.
The price was fantastic, we arrived just in time for happy hour so it was buy one meal get one free, so the bill came to 85rmb for both meals. This deal is on every Tuesday until 9pm. Make sure you arrive before 9pm as I saw some people arrive at 9.03 and sadly missed out on this great deal.
I was drinking complimentary iced water while my friend was taking advantage of the happy hour on Carlsberg, 20rmb per pint daily until 10pm.
Mccawleys has great deals on food every day including great deals on beef on Monday’s, Pork on Wednesday’s, half price pizzas on Thursday’s and Fish and Chips for 70rmb on Friday’s.
An early runner for November restaurant of the month? Maybe, You will have to wait and see.
Finally, I will be announcing October’s restaurant of the month winner shortly.
