Fusion Fitness Adds a Full Complement of MMA Classes with S.A. Trainer Clayton Wiese

Fight hard, train harder!

“Anyone can have the will to win, but not many have the will to prepare to win” – Cus d’amoto

(Coach to Iron Mike Tyson)

Clayton Wiese began practicing kickboxing around the age of 12, but not by choice. His mother began getting tired of him complaining about how badly his teammates on the school and club football (soccer) teams were, and Clayton, who hated losing and felt as though the defeats were the result of others never giving 100%, was enrolled by his mother into kickboxing classes under Hans Stolz (hskickboxing.co.za). Hans is a national kickboxing champion with SA colours, has competed overseas and is now the coach for the South African full-contact kickboxing team. Clayton trained under him for 4 years.

After finishing school, Clayton decided to temporarily hang up his gloves and see some of the world, from the Seychelles, Tanzania, Malawi and finally, China. He lived in China for four years until a business opportunity came up in South Africa. While in South Africa, he sought out a club where he could re-ignite his passion for combat sports, ultimately finding a club called Fight Right MMA Gym (fightright.co.za). Training under Rodney Swanepoel who is a multiple national grappling champion and trainer to Pro MMA fighter, Terrance Griessel (efcafrica.com). Training under Rodney, Clayton developed his boxing skills and No-Gi grappling technique, learning that proper technique overcomes most other elements in combat, including physical strength or aggression.

Clayton holds a National Diploma in exercise science and is a certified personal trainer and conditioning coach with additional qualifications from HFPA (Health and Fitness Professionals Association).

Fusion now has a full compliment of Mixed Martial Arts classes ready to get you fighting fit from day one!
