Tasca, Shekou Sea World Restaurant Review
I decided to try some tapas this week and headed to Shekou to Tasca, near Sea world. I have heard brilliant reviews from friends about this place and couldn’t wait to find out if the food and service matched the hype. The venue is warm and friendly and certainly exudes Spanish flavour. Staff are attentive and wear fabulous Spanish outfits. We ordered a few different Tapas dishes and a seafood paella. The first thing to note is the dish sizes, they are big enough for four people easily so if you want to avoid a lot of left-over food head over with a group.
There were only two of us so unfortunately we didn’t finish everything; this however was no slight on the quality of food which was overall, excellent. We tried garlic prawns over toasted bread, potatoes with salsa, garlic and chilli mushrooms and a mushroom and cheese dish (which was amazing). Then the paella came which was the small version and was still huge. There was so much seafood and the rice was delectable.
To wash it down I had a glass of fruity sangria which was perfect. The only down side were the garlic and chilli mushrooms which had been sliced too thinly for my liking and lacked taste. Overall a great experience, definitely go with friends as there were so many more dishes on the menu which I would have loved to have tried if I had been with more people. Tapas prices start from around 25rmb so it is definitely an affordable option for a birthday party or gathering of friends and family.
