Pingshan to Create Park for Overseas Students
During the China Hi-Tech Fair the Pingshan New Zone Innovation Park for Returned Overseas Students was launched with six teams of returned overseas students investing 600 million yuan in high tech projects. These projects will cover bio medicine, new energy, new materials, environmental protection and photo electrical equipment.
Science research and development offices and laboratories have already opened, and when completed the park is expected to hold 200 start up companies and become an important incubation base in Guangdong for companies created by overseas students. Companies that are found inside the innovation park are entitled to preferential tax policies, reduced rents or rent exemptions .
To attract more overseas students, Pingshan began promoting their advantages and policies in Hong Kong, the United States and Europe last year. Pingshan also arranged for 200 students to visit hi-tech companies during the China International Exchange of Professionals period this year. Pingshan New Zone government will be offering a one million yuan award for companies that have good performance records plus and an additional 450,000 yuan in funds for creating new projects.
