City Districts to be Transformed into Headquarters for Listed Companies
Four districts in Shenzhen, namely Nanshan and Longgang districts as well as Pingshan and Guangming new zones will be transformed into headquarter bases for several listed companies. The move is aimed to help revive listed companies, especially in the science, trade and information technology industry.
This will also help listed companies establish headquarters since most of them are having a hard time finding locations due to land shortages. Aside from land shortages, SMEs in the city also had difficulty in seeking finance and hiring professionals. The city will be providing 200 million yuan in financial support to SMEs compared to last year’s support of 153 million yuan. In 2004, Shenzhen created a special fund that assisted in the development of private companies and SMEs.
The city government will be coordinating with commercial banks in allowing small short term loans for the growing number of SMEs. The city is aiming to have 200 SMEs listed locally and internationally in the next five years.
