Restaurant Review – Rapscallions, Coco Park
I dined in Rapscallions on Saturday evening to find out what happens when ‘foodies of the world unite’! I drink here every now and then, and can always count on the atmosphere to be warm and welcoming and the beer to be cold and plentiful. Rapscallions is on the same side of coco park as Lilly Marlenes just past the bus depot and Le Nest. It has a nice indoor cafe area and a relaxing terrace with beautiful brick bar. To top it off there is a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of coco park, great for people watching.
To the food, I chose the hummus and pitta starter followed by the chicken sandwich on ciabbatta. The hummus was delicious. The chicken sandwich was the best sandwich I have tasted in China with the chicken and cheese melting in my mouth. My friends tried a pizza and a sandwich and were equally delighted. Prices were great, 45rmb for a hearty portion of hummus and pitta, 55rmb for a chicken sandwich with large salad or fries, 80rmb for a large pizza. Beers were 20rmb per pint of Tiger. You could also try the African curry, or from the selection of burgers and many other delicious meals. Prices are affordable and possibly the best value in coco park.
