City of Graz Seeks Coooperation with Shenzhen

City of Graz seeks coooperation with ShenzhenBeing the first UNESCO City of Design, the Austrian city of Graz is seeking cooperation opportunities with Shenzhen in the creative industry. The director of Graz Creative Management Center, Martin Krammer said that the two cities are both UNESCO Cities of Design and that both cities can benefit from each other by holding cultural events and creative activities.

Krammer also said the creativity is important in improving people’s lives and the city’s environment. By collaborating the two cities can achieve a lot and more opportunities will be sought. Both cities were encourage to carry out policies that will support the industry, creating a freer environment for designers to develop themselves. Residents will also be encourage to enrich their live through creativity and support.

This year’s China (Shenzhen) Industry Design Festival carried the theme of creativity, the power of cultural Shenzhen that includes the 2011 Idea Tops International Space Design Award. This year’s festival also features an art exhibit that displays the talent of Hong Kong and Shenzhen designers.

Eleven local designers will be receiving the 2011 Shenzhen Outstanding Designer Award, two students from Shenzhen University and Shenzhen Polytechnic were also recognized as outstanding designers for 2011.
