Kingkey 100 Awarded the Low Carbon Building PrizeTo mark the 10th anniversary of the opening of the China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, the tallest building in Shenzhen, the Kingkey 100, was award the prize of low carbon building. The award is given to buildings that use environmentally friendly materials and land resources.

The Kingkey building also won the award in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, which is an internationally recognized green building certification system that was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. The KingKey 100 is the eighth highest building in the world at 441.8 meters high.

The opening ceremony also saw a high level forum in China’s real estate market that attracted developers in different sectors that discussed China’s housing market even under tightened macroeconomic control. As of today real state developers are facing their toughest period and it was imperative that discussion on pressing issues and to make long term development plans that expand diversified financial channels, revolutionize development and apply energy saving and green technologies to construction.
