Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra to Feature Midori Goto Tonight
The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra will be having a concert tonight under the direction of Tang Muhai and will feature Japanese American violinist Midori Goto. Tonight’s repertoire will consist of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Op. 84 and Violin Concerto and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9. Midori Goto will be using a 1734 Guarneri del Gesu violin in tonight’s concert.
Goto is recognized as one of the most dazzling and gifted performers in front of a public. She have also been increasingly active in the prescient and innovative community engagement initiatives in which she devotes most of her time and resources. In 2007, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon named Goto the Messenger of Peace. She also created a model for young artists that seeks to balance the joy and demand of a performing career in its highest level.
Tang Muhai international career first started when Herbert von Karajan asked him to conduct the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in the 1983-1984 season. Soon after Tang learned more conducting for two more years under the guidance of Karajan.
