City’s Tallest Building now Renting Out Offices
Kingkey 100 the city’s tallest building is now renting out offices for business, with nearly 40 percent of the offices already rented out by companies including Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Novartis. This has attracted other Fortune 500 companies seeking offices for their Chinese headquarters in the building.
An international luxury hotel, St. Regis opened on the 75th floor and occupies a total of 25 floors. The hotel will feature high tech electronic facilities in each room that can be controlled by guests using an iPad 2.
Kingkey 100 was built on the site that was home to a densely populated urban village in the Louhu district. The district will continue its urban renovation in the surrounding area found near Jinghu Hotel in Caiwuwei, which is another area consisting of urban villages and old buildings.
Research planning is already underway on possible designs for the renovation projects with bidding for the projects to begin next year.
