North Korean Leader Passed Away
North Korean Leader Kim Jong iL passed away yesterday at the age of 69. Medical personnel that were on hand to give first aid measures on him just before he died stated that the Korean top Leader suffered an advanced acute myocardial infraction that was complicated by a serious heart attack.
North Korea is now led by Kim Jong Un and is urging party members, service personnel and the people to remain faithful to his leadership. Ma Zhaoxu a Spokesperson for the foreign ministry said the Kim was a great leader and an intimate friend of the people. Kim was responsible for contributions for the development to the socialist cause in North Korea and promoted good neighborly and cooperative relations with China.
A National Funeral Committee that will be led by Kim Jong Un is already set up, and Kim Jong iL body will be placed at the Kumsusan Memorial Palace. A period of mourning will be held in North Korea until December 29, condolences will be accepted until December 27, then a farewell ceremony will be done on December 28 and finally a National Memorial on December 29.
The National Funeral Committee also said that foreign mourning delegations will not be received. Institutions and enterprises will hoist flags at half mast, all forms of entertainment will be suspended.
