Shenzhen Ranked Fourth in Magazine's City of the FutureIn the 2011/2012 edition of fDi magazine, Shenzhen was ranked fourth in the Asian and Pacific Cities of the Future. According to the magazine four Chinese cities made it to the top ten, namely Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shenzhen. The fDi magazine is an English bi-monthly news and foreign direct publication that is owned by the Financial Times Group.

Singapore retained the top spot while Shanghai ranked second. Shanghai did well in categories such as business potential and human resources management. Hong Kong was ranked sixth followed by Beijing at seventh place. Shenzhen took the fifth spot in the category of business potential and ranked second in the business operation environment category. This showed that Shenzhen is one of the top choices for international investors.

A large number of foreign investment projects that involve more than US$ 10 million dollars have increased in Shenzhen, and statistics have shown that the city has attracted contractual foreign investment of more than US$ 3 billion dollars in just the first six months of 2011.
