NY Department of Labor Awards Grant to 1-Source
As a part of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Council Initiative, electronic component distributor 1-Source Electronic Components, was given a grant of US$ 46,410 on December 15 by the New York State Department of Labor. The grant will then be used to train the company’s current employees to further improve quality management, to prepare for internal audits and become industry certified. The program is also intended to drive economic growth and create more jobs.
1-Source Electronic Components is an international distributor of board level electronic components that supplies manufacturing companies with transistors, connectors and transistors. Their headquarters is located in Hauppauge, New York where they do training and hiring of their employees. 1-Source also have offices in Central America and China. The training that the employees will get during the grant program increases their knowledge and value to customers and to 1-Source.
Richard Lodato, 1-Source President, was grateful for the grants saying that they are always keeping their eyes open for ways to develop their customer service. The grant will give them the opportunity to add ISO9001 certification to their company and they are looking forward toAS9120 next year. the certifications let their customers know that they will be getting enhanced customer service and highest quality products.
Bruce MacArthur 1-Source COO, said the company has been operating with ISO compliant procedures and protocols since the company was created in 2001. The added training will improve vendor status in line with many of the world’s most elite manufacturers. 1-Aource will also dedicate themselves in seeing the value and bottom line benefits to their employees, customers and supplier partners.
