Shenzhen Appoints Pianist as Image Goodwill AmbassadorFollowing his  successful role as goodwill ambassador during the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade, renowned pianist Lang Lang was appointed Shenzhen’s International Image Goodwill Ambassador. Lang received the appointment letter from Shenzhen Mayor Xu Qin, saying that it was his honor to receive such an appointment.

Lang promised to dedicate himself in promoting Shenzhen’s culture and education. Every time Lang comes home to Shenzhen he is always impressed by how the residents embrace the cultural atmosphere. In honor of his appointment as Goodwill ambassador, Lang Lang Piano World training center was also opened in Shenzhen. Lang will then place his performance  experience and dreams into teaching piano to young players and bring a more international outlook and show Shenzhen’s grace and charm to the world.

Lang was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, Lang was also the first Chinese pianist to play with the Berlin Philharmonic. The Vienna Philharmonic and several top American orchestras. Lang also participated in the Universiade torch relay last August.
