New Ruling Causes Passengers to Miss Flights

New Ruling Caused Passengers to Miss FlightsDue to a new ruling implemented at Shenzhen Bao’an Airport, which stops check-in services 40 minutes before any departure rather than the usual 30 minutes,  many passengers missed their flights.

More than 28,000 passengers pass through the Shenzhen airport, which handles around 250 flights a day.  Two to three passengers failed to reach their planned destinations because they were not aware of the new rule. China Southern Airlines reportedly handled 6,500 passengers on New Year’s Day and because of the new rule, had more than one hundred passengers miss their flights.

With more passengers learing of the new rule through airport services and the airline companies, the situation has improved. Air Asia, Shenzhen Airlines and Tiger Airways have kept their deadline at 45 minutes before departure.

Airlines are also preparing for the Spring Festival holiday rush, several airlines have opened new routes and will operate on a daily basis. Okay Airways will open a route from Shenzhen to Tianjin on January 9. Hebei Airlines will have a route open going between Shenzhen and Shijiahuang and Dalian Airlines will have a route going between Dalian to Shenzhen.
