District Issued its First English Work Report
In its quest for internationalization, Futian district issued their first English version of their annual government work report during the first plenary session of the sixth district people’s congress, thus marking another step forward. The English report was given out to all the delegates present in the session.
Yang Hong the district acting chief had the privilege in delivering the report at yesterday’s session that reported the districts achievements in the past five years and the district’s future plans. Futian’s GDP and retail sales of consumer goods from 2006 and 2011 were expected to have a double digit growth.
In the past five years the district was able to complete a 84 billion yuan investment on fixed assets and an additional US$ 4.8 billion in direct foreign investments. Futian is hoping to hit a GDP of 223 billion yuan in 2012 an estimated 9 percent increase in the same period last year.
More improvements will be made in urban renovation, ecological environment, urban management and public services in the next five years. And while summarizing its achievements, reports were also made that pointed out the problems and shortages that were hitting the district.
