Welcome to Cricket in Guangzhou

Welcome to Cricket in GuangzhouCome and Support Cricket in Guangzhou

If you don’t like cricket, but love it – the Canton Cricket Club (CCC) needs you! Teams are being formed for a regular competition at the Asian Games cricket stadium. Come get involved and make cricket a success in Guangzhou.

Come and join a team

We are currently forming four teams to play two Twenty20 matches on the same day. There are currently two fully formed teams, another team is forming based in Panyu and we are seeking new players for the fourth team. We also need a supporters group for umpires, officials and catering.

Asian Games Stadium

The 2010 Asian Games brought China’s first cricket stadium to Guangzhou, which is located in the University Town.  The superb stadium has an ICC standard field, a large grandstand and a media centre at each end.

Pitch Fees

The Asian Cricket Council has leased the stadium from the University, through China Cricket in Beijing. However, we need to cover the cost of pitch preparation. This means that games fees will be about RMB200/game to cover the greens keeper’s costs and catering.

We seek sponsors to support each of the teams and the league.  For sponsorship, proposals and details – please contact Peter Fenton – CCC.

New players are encouraged to join the fourth team. Contact the teams:

  1. Taojin Taipans – Captain: Peter Fenton (136 1035 5471)
  2. Guangzhou United – Captain: Anil (139 2601 6477)
  3. Guangzhou All Stars – Captain: Kalid (138 2508 0704)
  4. Forth team: James  - temporary organizer (135 0002 0936)

Next Games

The next will be on Sunday 15 January, 12 & 26 February, 11 & 25 March 2012. The first game starts at 9:30am and the second game starts at 12:45pm.

The Guangdong University of Technology Cricket Stadium

is in the University Town in Panyu District, Guangzhou. It is on the corner of Zhong Huan Xi Lu (中环西路)and Nan San Lu (南三路). If traveling by metro, take Line 4 to Higher Education Mega Centre South. Then head west along Zhong Huan Xi Lu (however, you will see signs that say Zhong Huan Dong Lu) and walk past the basketball and tennis centers (about 15-20mins). If driving take the Nansha Expressway and take the University Town exit.
