Hong Kong Pop Stars to Perform in Shenzhen
Two of Hong Kong’s well known pop stars are set to perform in Shenzhen in April and July of this year.
First to perform in April is Alan Tam or Tam Wing-lun, an award winning Hong Kong pop singer and actor. Tam is scheduled to perform a solo concert at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center on April 28. Tam had a major role in developing Hong Kong pop music during the early 80′s when he was singing romantic ballads with modern arrangements. Since then Tam has been the ambassador for the Hong Kong pop music industry.
Tam remains active in the music scene in Hong Kong giving performances and releasing new albums. He is always seen on media platforms in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Chinese mainland and parts of east Asia lending a hand and performing in various types of entertainment events and charity activities.
Then on July 7, another popular Hong Kong male singer is to perform at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center. Eason Chan is one of the new generation in Hong Kong pop music circles. Once described by Time magazine as an icon with great influence in the Hong Kong music scene. Chan is also the third Hong Kong pop star to be given the title of god of singing, after Jacky Cheung and Samuel Hui.
Chan studied architecture and music in Britain where he got a Grade 8 vocal certificate from the Royal Academy of Music. Chan returned to Hong Kong to join in the 1995 New Talent Singing Awards Competition were he won first place thus launching his career in Music.
