More Companies are Still Facing Staff Shortage

More Companies are Still Facing Staff ShortageCompanies in Shenzhen are facing a post holiday staff shortage, and after this year’s Spring Festival 60 percent of local companies in Shenzhen are planning to hire more workers with half of the companies offering higher wages in hopes to attract more workers.

Statistics also showed that around 7 percent of the companies have fewer positions for workers that the previous years, also 30 percent of the companies are sticking or not changing their recruitment plans in hiring workers. This showed that more companies are changing their plans on recruiting potential workers.

The most popular positions being offered are for those working in the fields in technical management, operations management, research and marketing, production and human resources in industries that deals in telecommunications, electronic equipment manufacturing, information transmission, computers, education and culture, chemical product manufacturing, and consumer goods production. While some of the companies are in need of medium to high level managers and technical professionals.

Several companies are saying that it’s much harder for them to hire people because of the city’s high cost of living, and most companies admitted that their offering salaries didn’t reach the job seekers expectations and promised to increase wages to attract workers and maintain the old ones.
