City Plans to Build an International Logistics Institute
To further train high end professionals to work at the city’s logistics industry, Dalian Maritime University in Liaoning Province plans to build an international logistics institute in Shenzhen. Plans for the preparation and construction of the institute is already in discussion by the city.
City transport commission said that the logistics industry added around 110 billion yuan to the economy last year, which is a 15 percent increase compared to 2010. and an increase of 10 percent compared to 2011. Last year the city opened China’s first cold chain logistics development plan together with China’s first cold food chain technology and management regulations.
To further promote the development of the industry of high end logistics, the city’s transport commission will implement preferential policies that will encourage companies to introduce creative logistics management and business models and at the same time improve efficiency and the quality of service. City officials will also implement a public information platform for logistics along with electronic checkpoints that will provide better service and industrial upgrading.
