ECLC2 Visits Splendid China
ECLC2 kicked off celebrating Chinese New Year by visiting Splendid China. This trip gave the children the opportunity to experience Chinese culture, such as Tibetan dance. The children were so delighted and demonstrated their ability to take risks by joining in the dance.
The children also discovered and looked into replicas of China’s famous landmarks, including The Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.
In addition, the children investigated the dragons that are situated at the entrance of the park. Of course, each ECLC2 class illustrated their observation. These observations were used to inspire the children to make a class dragon for the ECLC parade.
Finally, this trip/learning activity introduced the children to Global Citizenship awareness; the interest and pleasure in discovering an unfamiliar, wider world where people images, objects and sounds are different from “Home.”
I would like to take this opportunity to express the ECLC2 team’s gratitude to all parents who joined in our trip and facilitated children’s acquiring new knowledge. Until next time, Happy Year of the Dragon!
