Luohu Residents to Enjoy Free Symphony ConcertsResidents living in the Futian CBD enjoy the convenience of watching free concerts at the Shenzhen Concert Hall on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Luohu residents can now enjoy the same amenity.

After a long wait, Luohu residents will be rewarded with free symphony concerts provided by professional musicians that will perform instrumental performances and other classical music. The first concert was held Wednesday afternoon with nearly half of the 2,000 seats filled and was presented by the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and several guest musicians at the Luohu District Hall.

Artistic director for the Shanghai Opera House Zhang Guoyong lead the the first concert. Zhang gave a great show invoking vivid images by using simple and clear language. He introduced to the audience pieces that are both classic and easy for beginners. The audience were treated to pieces from known Chinese works Dance of the Ethnic Yao People and Butterfly Lovers along with western pieces such as Swan Lake and the Blue Danube.

Residents will be treated to five more symphony concerts at the Luohu District Hall, and five more for students and 12 chamber music concerts that will be performed in a public plaza on Nanhu Road.
