Bureau Releases High Speed Train Schedules Online
According to an online schedule released by the Wuhan Bureau of Railways, there will be ten high speed trains running from Shenzhen to Wuhan from 7 am and 6 pm everyday. The trains can make the 1,069 kilometer long trip in just four hours and thirteen minutes.
G1012 will be the earliest train to leave Shenzhen at 7 am and will arrive in Wuhan by 11:40 am. The last train to depart Shenzhen will be at 6 pm and will arrive in Wuhan by 10:40 pm. Trains scheduled to leave Shenzhen at 30 to 90 minutes of intervals. Trains leaving Shenzhen for Wuhan have stopovers at Guangzhou and Changsha. The stop at Changsha will last for five minutes while the stop at Guangzhou will last for 11 minutes. Other trains will stop for about two minutes in the other stations. The G1020 train leaves Shenzhen at 2:20 pm and stops at nine stations.
The railway bureau has not yet released fares for the high speed trains, but several officials say that the fare might be priced at 540 yuan. Current fare for an economy seat for a trip from Shenzhen and Guangzhou is 75 yuan. The new high speed trains have cause several airlines to reduce some of their flights from Shenzhen to Changsha and Wuhan during the summer winter travel schedules.
The presence of these high speed trains does not pose a challenge to the aviation industry but the comfort and punctuality that they offer are attracting travelers fast.
