City to Create Designated Areas for Street Vendors
Shenzhen’s urban management bureau is designating areas and times that are appropriate for street vendors to conduct their business. Plans include imposing new regulations that involve parks, advertising and sub-district supervision.
Street vendors will be placed in areas that will not disturb traffic and the lives of residents. Regulations will also require enforcers to use a non-violent manner and people friendly means of managing street vendors that are conducting illegal business on the street. Plans to strengthen parks construction and management will be required from each district along with the construction of newer parks for children.
The city will also clean up graffiti and urban advertising, several outdoor advertising media such as LED screens will be placed under unified management to control ads. The city will be employing companies that are qualified to remove graffiti and stickers around the city. The city will be asking business and local organizations to help in the upkeep of the urban areas found around Shenzhen.
