People to Visit Their Dead Pets on Tomb Sweeping Day
In the past two months Tiantang Pet’s Hospice Care Service, the first professional pet cemetery in the city said that the number of visitors has been increasing with an average of five to six families coming in to visit the grave of their dead pets. Owners come and clean their pets tombs then offering snack and toys to show their love. Some owners even burn sacrificial objects such as dog houses and cat toys that is made out of paper. These type of sacrificial objects was becoming popular to pet owners who like to burn things to commemorate their pets.
Some of the pet owners are even coming from other cities to visit their dead pets since the pet cemetery is the only one in Guangdong that has an imported cremator. Some pet owners living in the nearby areas even send their pet to the cemetery to be cremated and will come every tomb sweeping day to visit their pets.
But the public is not aware of the pet cemetery in the area and many of the people secretly bury their pets in the city parks. Park authorities are discouraging people from burying their pets in parks because it’s bad for the environment because of the chances that their pets might be carrying viruses. Regulations states that pets must be treated when they die and the city center offers this type of service however many of the owners don’t want their pets to undergo such a crude treatment.
Having pet cemeteries is a good way of solving the problem of how should owners takes care of their deceased pets.
