Sensei Katz to Give a Free Aikido Master Class at Fusion Fitness This Saturday

Aikido is a defensive Martial Art form that focuses on redirecting and diffusing the opponent’s attack. This Saturday at 12:00 Fusion Fitness will organize a clinic where the renowned Sensei Katz will give a demonstration and master class to all that are interested.

Sensei Katz grew up in Japan and trained under Shihan Katsutoshi Shirakara in the Shinbu Rensei Juku dojo in Sendai, just north of Tokyo. ‘Aikido is all about respect’ Mr. Katz explains. ‘Honor, respect and loyalty is very important in the dojo. Aikido is not a fighting sport, not at all. It teaches you how to defend yourself and deflect an attack but it also teaches you to control yourself during times of crisis and keeping a steady mind at all time.’ Sensei Katz continues.

Sensei Katz is amongst a handful of Aikdo masters worldwide that has mastered a counter technique called Kaeshi Waza. The name Kaeshi Waza refers to a set of counter techniques that are being practiced or taught by a more experienced Aikidoka. Some people classify these special techniques as the Sensei’s secret black book to take on “naughty students of Aikido” during training in the dojo.

This Saturday Fusion Fitness Martial Arts will open its doors to the public so that everybody can experience the incredible world of Aikido. ‘The event will start at 12 o’clock in the afternoon and will last until around 2:30 pm.’ Don C. Martial, Fusion Fitness Martial Arts Director explains.

Don C. Martial: ‘We are very proud and excited to introduce Sensei Katz to our dojo as he is one of the few that are as specialized as him.We welcome you to our dojo to experience this fantastic event and hope to see you this Saturday!’
